Objectives:
- Provided with the choice of The Daily 5 activities (Read to Self, Read to Someone, Work on Writing, Word Work, or Listen to Reading), 2nd grade students will choose one activity to perform over a time span of 20 minutes.
- Provided with the technology hardware available in the classroom and at home, 2nd grade students will select and retrieve tools needed to complete the activity within 2 minutes of initial selection of activity. Hardware may include but is not limited to: desktop computers, laptop computers, headphones, and Promethean board.
- Provided with the technology web tools available in the classroom and at home, 2nd grade students will select software needed to complete activity. Web tools and/or applications may include but are not limited to: Kidblog, Skype, ThinkCentral, ActivInspire, and Storyline Online.
- Appropriately using hardware and software selected for desired activity, 2nd grade students will independently complete activity over 20 minute time span.
4a. Read to Self: Using ThinkCentral, 2nd grade students will successfully log in using Journeys usernames and passwords, read weekly story, and answer comprehension questions over 20 minute timeframe.
4b. Read to Someone: Using Skype, 2nd grade students will successfully choose a partner, access Skype, and read weekly Journeys story to each other over 20 minute timeframe.
4c. Work on Writing: Using Kidblog, 2nd grade students will successfully log in using usernames and passwords, read prompt, create and edit a written response, and log out over 20 minute timeframe.
4d. Word Work: Using ActivInspire, 2nd grade students will successfully complete word work activity on Promethean board over 20 minute timeframe.
4e. Listen to Reading: Using Storyline Online, 2nd grade students will successfully choose a story to listen to using headphones over 20 minute timeframe.
